2017 Mukilteo 11U Softball All Stars Win State Championship

In an electrifying championship game, the Mukilteo 11U Softball All Stars beat the Kirkland National All Stars 3-4 in a thrilling come from behind, walk off victory to win the 2017 11U Softball All Stars State Championship! Led by Manager Bill Rohwer and coaches Jason Cummings and Peter Rudek, the Mukilteo All Stars finished the State tournament with a perfect 4-0 record. Manager Rohwer commented that one of the sweetest aspects of their victory is that it was a total team effort. The girls never lost their faith in each other, every player put in their best effort and contributed to the team’s success.  The team celebrated their victory by giving their Manager a stylish new haircut.

Championship Game Recap:  The game was a pitcher’s duel between Samantha Rohwer from Mukilteo and Kya Aldrich from Kirkland National.  There was no scoring in the 1st and 2nd inning, then Kirkland scored three runs in the 3rd inning.  The 4th inning was scoreless, then Mukilteo scored one run in the 5th inning (Gabby Cummings hit to right field to score Kaylee Mitchell).   In the 6th inning, Grace Rudek hit a double to right field with 1 out; Ally Boulger hit a single to left center to score Grace Rudek; Kaylee Mitchell hit a double with 2 outs to score Ally Boulger; Olivia Rorke-Lucero (with 2 outs and 2 strikes) hit a hard ground ball between shortstop and 3rd to score Kaylee Mitchell and win the game for Mukilteo with a walk off 4-3 victory to clinch the Washington State 10/11 Softball Championship.
