Open Board Positions 2022-2023

The Mukilteo Little League is looking for new board members to fill important roles for the 2020-21 Little League season. Mukilteo Little League is a 100% volunteer organization and we rely on a lot of people to make this a wonderful experience for our community.

The following positions need to be filled:

Treasurer
– Maintains the league’s accounting and financial records; pays the league’s monthly bills; maintains banking relationships; reconciles bank accounts; prepares financial statements and annual reports; develops annual budget in consultation with the board of directors; and ensures that annual tax returns and other state/federal reporting is completed timely. [Note: some financial acumen is desired. The league uses QuickBooks to maintain financial records. There are CPAs who can assist with the more complex financial reporting aspects of the position.]

Registrar – Oversees the league’s online registration system including set up of registration events and managing registration records; ensures players get properly registered; verifies player eligibility; manages scholarships; answers general questions about registration and league programs; and provides updates and reports to board as needed.  [Note: some technical skills are required to manage the online system, however, significant training and ongoing support will be provided.]

Sponsor Manager – Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations; collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities; organizes and implements approved league sponsorship plan; and maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising activities.

Vice President of Administration – The vice president presides in the absence of the president, works with other officers and committee members, is ex-officio member of committees, and carries out such duties and assignments as may be delegated by the president. Separate vice presidents oversee individual divisions within the league. This position oversees the administrative functions of the league including board relations, communications, finances, sponsorships, etc.  This would be a good role for anyone interested in becoming league president to learn more about the league’s administrative operations.

Baseball Equipment Manager – Orders, distributes, and manages the league’s baseball equipment. Places supply orders with vendors; organizes gear in the equipment room; distributes team gear to coaches; and ensures the league has the proper equipment to run safe programs.

Player Agent Baseball (Farm/Minors/Majors) - (ages 9 – 12) – Conducts annual tryouts; is in charge of team formation and player selection process; generally supervises and coordinates the transfer of players to or from the Minor Leagues according to provisions of the regulations of Little League; and coordinates the league’s baseball All Stars program including team selection, player verification, and completing district paperwork requirements.

VP of Teenage Baseball/Teenage Player Agent – (ages 11-16) –  Organizes the teenage baseball programs and serves as Player Agent for the upper divisions. Conducts annual tryouts for upper divisions; is in charge of player selection process; generally supervises and coordinates the transfer of players to or from the upper divisions according to provisions of the regulations of Little League; and coordinates the league’s teenage All Stars program including team selection, player verification, and completing district paperwork requirements.

Volunteer Coordinator –
Works with coaches to ensure volunteers are backgrounded and adequately registered for each team; prints ID badges for coaches and board members; and helps recruit volunteers for the snack shack and other events.

Fundraising Manager - This position organizes fundraising events for the league.

Concession Manager Assistant - Since the Concession Manager position is so time intensive, the league is seeking someone to help out and take on certain aspects of managing the concession stand such as making weekly trips to the store to stock the snack shack with food and supplies. Estimated time is 2-3 hours per week during the spring season.

We need new board members to carry on the tradition of little league in the Mukilteo community. We serve over 600 children each year, and this cannot be accomplished by just a few people. We have a large board that works very well together to ensure we have a well-organized and well-run program. We are not just here to teach baseball fundamentals; we are here to raise young adults to be team players and good sportsmen, have fun, make friends for life, and experience a sense of community. This requires volunteers who want to make a difference and show the children that baseball and softball is also about a community, the Mukilteo School District Community. We have an exciting year planned and ask that you consider giving of your time and energy to help our community organization be the best it can be. Your contributions and talents are greatly needed and the satisfaction you receive in return cannot be measured.

If you have interest in joining or learning more about the open board positions, please come to one of our board meetings or contact the MLL President Ed Hansen at [email protected].
