Tee Ball

Tee-Ball is an instructional league where our goal is to teach players the fundamentals of hitting, fielding and throwing along with learning the basic rules of baseball. In addition, we believe players make new friends, learn to play as a team, and have fun. Please contact us at [email protected] if you have further questions or if issues arise during the season.

Co-Ed Program:  Tee Ball is open to boys and girls.

Age Group:

Players are League Age 4 to 6 years old.  Their "League Age" is based on age on August 31 of the playing year (e.g. 8/31/2026 for spring 2026 season).

Tee Ball: What to Expect

  • Hitting: All Players will hit off of a tee during the first half of the season. During the second half of the season, those who can consistently demonstrate proper form will have the option to hit an under hand pitch from a coach.
  • Field Size: Games are played on a smaller 50-foot baseball diamond path
  • Ball Type: soft tee ball
  • Team size: 7-8 players

Tee Ball Practices & Games

I see teams and players practicing, but I have not been contacted. Did my child not get on a team?

Don't worry! The Tee Ball season starts about 5-6 weeks after the Majors and Minors teams. This is due to field availability, daylight savings and weather. You can expect to be contacted by a team manager in mid/late-March. If you haven't heard from a team manager by Sunday, March 22, please contact the Registrar at [email protected].

When will practice begin?

In 2026, practices are scheduled to begin the last week of March and are held at various schools in our area. The frequency of practices is determined by each Team Manager (head coach).

What time and how long can I expect practice to last?

Practice is conducted at the team manager's discretion. Practices are typically held once a week for about 1 hour.

When do games start, and how often are they held?

Games will start on Saturday, April 18 (after Spring Break). Tee Ball games are on Saturdays.

Tee Ball Equipment

It is recommended that all players should have a baseball mitt and baseball shoes (rubber cleats).  A protective cup is required of all biological males. Many players prefer to use their own baseball bat and helmet, although the league has extras available that the players may use. Some players also like to have an equipment bag to carry their belongings but that isn't required.

Players will need to purchase their own baseball pants, socks and belt, which are typically color-coordinated with the team's t-shirt color. (See your team's head coach for specific colors, styles, etc.) The league will provide a t-shirt and hat for all players.
We generally buy the exact amount of hats needed for the kids and coaches. If your son loses his hat, your head coach may have extras. If not, we can give you the vendor information so you may purchase a replacement if you wish.

Tee Ball Team Formation

Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Tee Ball teams are smaller than teams in other divisions due to the instructional nature of of tee ball. Teams are comprised of 7-8 players.

Buddy Requests are accommodated where possible. On the registration form, there is a spot for one Buddy Request and Coach Request. Every effort will be made to accommodate buddy and coach requests; however there are no guarantees.

Players are placed on teams based on the school they attend. However, if necessary, players from schools in close geographical proximity are placed together to fulfill roster requirements.   Players from private schools or those who homeschool are placed on the roster of the public school they would otherwise attend based on home address.
