SPORT PARENT SURVIVAL GUIDE

Sport Parent Survival Guide

The American Sport Education Program has put together this guide to helping you do much more than "survive" youth sports. We agree with them that parents should enjoy their kids' participation in sports to the fullest and have the tools they need to make it fun and valuable for their young athletes. We hope this guide encourages you to be involved in your child's enjoyment and success with Mukilteo Little League!

Parent Code of Conduct

The way parents and family members behave at youth sports games and practices has a significant impact on the player experience. Parents can set an example for Little Leaguers® by displaying the high-level of sportsmanship that Little League expects of all its participants and respecting all players, coaches, umpires, and volunteers.

Click the following link for Mukilteo Little League's Parent Code of Conduct.  Mukilteo Little League's Local Rules contain a discipline protocol for violations. A parent of a player that fails to abide by the code of conduct will be suspended for attending one game. If a parent fails to fulfill their suspension, then their player/child can be suspended for one game. Managers must notify both the player agent and vice president of baseball or softball of any disciplinary action taken by a manager regarding a player or parent.  Any second infraction of the code of conduct may result in the permanent removal of manager, coach, umpire, player or parent as determined by the full board of directors.  See the league's Local Rules for more detail on the League Discipline Protocol.

Bat Standards for Baseball

Before investing in a new bat, please review your purchase to ensure your bat is compliant with the bat rules in effect for the level of baseball or league that you are playing in.

ALL baseball bats used for Rookie through Juniors baseball games and practices must have USA Baseball Certification. The certification is easy to identify. Look for the USA Baseball Logo on the neck of the bat just above the grip.
